Friends of Bright Sparks

Being a Friend of Bright Sparks simply means joining our growing list of supporters by giving your contact details. You can indicate your interests so we can contact you with school news or events, call outs for help or opportunities to be involved in projects.Your details will be kept secure and only used for the reasons you indicate.

Volunteer

There are so many ways you can help – whether you are an individual or organisation.

INDIVIDUALS

  • Volunteer to help out in school by listening to a child read, or giving extra help to a small group in a subject such as English or maths.
  • Help fundraise by supporting an event or helping organise one
  • Help run the school library and organise lending sessions
  • Do a gardening or yoga session with a group
  • Offer your professional expertise to the Society in areas like social media, accountancy or computer work
  • Run computer club sessions for our students. They are very keen to learn

ORGANISATIONS

  • Help us organise the skills training for young adults that your company or organisation needs
  • Offer opportunities for students to visit you and learn about your business as a career
  • Visit our school and speak about your field of expertise. There are so many kinds of work that our students do not know about
  • Help fund a welfare project that improves the lives of an underprivileged community
  • You too can be a Friend of Bright Sparks, as a supporter or volunteer.

Donate

Sometimes visitors to Bright Sparks School bring snacks for the children, which is very popular. But we ask you to consider making a donation instead. Donations, especially regular ones, mean we can go on giving the education these children need. A pack of snacks lasts less than an hour, but learning to read will serve a child for a lifetime.

Your donation may be large or small; single, monthly or yearly – whatever is right for you. But having it means we can cover necessary expenses including the building, books and services.

Sponsor a child’s place

The cost of each child’s place at Bright Sparks school is INR 2000 a month, INR 24000 a year. Can you, your family, or your friendship group take up the challenge of sponsoring one child’s place at school? It is a wonderful gift.

You will be enabling one student’s place at Bright Sparks, not sponsoring a named child. You will be welcome to visit and will be invited to join with the School to celebrate special occasions such as Diwali, at least once a year.
